Watermain Replacement Project

WATER MAIN REPLACEMENT PROJECT

The City of Oregon has begun construction of new water mains on 10th Street from Jefferson Street to Clay Street, Adams Street from 10th Street to 9th Street, 8th Street from Clay Street to Pines Road, and Madison Street from 8th Street to 7th Street. The project also includes the construction of new water service lines from the new water main to the street right-of-way line. The project is being financed by the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (SRF). The SRF program is administered by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency and receives a portion of its money to fund these types of projects from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Once complete, this project will allow the City to continue to provide quality drinking water for area residents and businesses and will replace aging and deteriorating water mains. SRF programs operate in each state to provide communities the resources necessary to build, maintain, and improve the infrastructure that protects one of our most valuable resources: water.
