The City of Oregon is looking to hire a full-time employee for the Water and Wastewater Department.  We are seeking an individual with a positive, can-do attitude, a team player who enjoys working with others and problem solving, can bring a superior work ethic and the desire to always continue to learn and grow in their career. This employee must be willing to learn all aspects of the above, and work towards getting licensed by the EPA in both water & wastewater.

Some of your duties (not an exhaustive list) will include the same duties over time, as our current employees in that department.

Under the supervision of the Water Superintendent, this employee will operate water treatment plant equipment; perform daily sampling and laboratory testing; record and document the results of the sampling and testing; read water meters; locate City utilities through the JULIE locating system; maintain wells, pumps, filters, towers, water meters, water main, valves, fire hydrants, and buildings. You will be required to be able to drive and learn how to use a vactor truck, a jetter truck, skid loader, power saw, chain saw, grinders, drills and weed eaters, and lawn mowers to name a few.  The employee also needs a valid driver’s license.

The new person must also be willing to learn and do chores on the weekend, (usually every other or maybe every 3rd weekend), and be available for call outs at nighttime, and may have to work a Holiday, in cases of emergency.  New Employee must live within 25 miles of Oregon or be willing to relocate.

Oregon has an excellent pay and benefits structure including eye, health, and dental insurance. Starting pay: $39,515.00.
