The Soldier’s Monument

The Soldier’s Monument, sculpted by Lorado Taft, is on the north lawn of the courthouse. It serves as a permanent record and reminder of the contribution of the men of Ogle County who served in the Civil War.

Two Civil War cannons, also placed as a memorial of the Civil War, are located on the east side of the courthouse lawn also placed as a memorial of the Civil War, are located on the east side of the courthouse lawn.
