Tree Related Permits and Tree Planting Guide

Did you know that the City of Oregon has a tree replacement program where we will pay 50% of the cost up to $100.00 with residents for trees planted in the terrace? Oregon’s tree lined streets are one of many things that make our community beautiful. Fall is the best time to plant trees. Unfortunately, Oregon has had to remove over 150 trees because of the Emerald Ash Borer infestation as well as diseased/dying or storm related losses. With our 2021 Tree Inventory we identified over 500 potential planting spaces. Trees provide a ton of benefits, including absorbing traffic noise, reducing energy costs, and absorbing carbon dioxide among other things. If you’d like to learn more checkout our website or contact City Hall today!

  • For Terrace Trees:
  • The owner is responsible for the purchase, planting and watering of the tree.
  • The owner agrees to provide ample water and other care to insure the survival of the tree. If it is determined that due diligence was not followed. and the tree dies, the owner will reimburse the City of Oregon for their 50% of the original price.
  • Only the approved species and location staked by the Public Works Director, or his/her designee will be valid.    Please call with any questions.
