Brush/Yard Waste/Leaf Vac

The City of Oregon will once again be offering leaf pick-up service this fall.

While we are still awaiting delivery of our new leaf vacuum equipment, we will rent a unit again this year to ensure this important service continues without interruption.

📋 Leaf Collection Guidelines:

Please help us keep the process smooth and efficient by following these simple rules:

Rake leaves to the curb line (not into the street).

Do not place leaves behind obstacles like cars, trees, or bushes.

Do not mix leaves with trash, sticks, or other yard debris.

Leaves from outside city limits will not be accepted.

📅 Leaf Collection Schedule:

November 3–17
December 1–15
🕖 Daily from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (weather permitting)

City Quadrants:

To help manage pickup routes, the City will be divided into four quadrants, separated by Route 64 and Route 2. (See map for details.)

We appreciate your cooperation and patience as we continue to improve city services. Thank you for helping us keep Oregon clean and beautiful this fall!

YARD WASTE

Yard waste pick up starts April 1, 2025, and will be picked up by-weekly, opposite week of recycling pickup.

Yard Waste Guidelines

  • Yard waste should be at the curb by 6:00 am
  • Yard waste should be placed in containers or in biodegradable paper yard waste bags (plastic garbage bags are not acceptable).
  • Customers using containers for yard waste should clearly mark them with a large ‘X.’
  • Yard waste should not exceed 50 pounds per bag or container.
  • Branches not exceeding 1 inch in diameter or 4 feet in length, which are bundles with string, are also acceptable.
  • All properly prepared yard waste will be removed from the curb. Unbundled or uncontained yard waste will be rejected at the curb.

Brush Guidelines

  • Brush is branches larger than 1 inch in diameter. Branches less than 1 inch are considered yard waste (see above).
  • Place brush at the terrace by 7:00 am on the pickup day parallel and as close to the curb as possible. Do not put brush in the street.
  • Brush piles are not to exceed 4 feet in height, 4 feet in depth, and 12 feet in length, with 1 foot spacing between piles.
  • Do not pile brush under low hanging trees, behind or around utility poles, trees or other obstructions, or on top of water valves. The city will not be held responsible for damage caused to water lines due to piling brush on top of the water valves.
  • Piles considered yard waste or not stacked properly will not be picked up by the City.
